Tegan Mumford - Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Counsellor & Psychotherapist
I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a private practice based in the inner north of Melbourne.
I have a warm, respectful and inclusive practice. I value connection, trust, and safety in the therapy relationship.
My hope is to help you to lead a more connected, meaningful, and present life.
I am deeply interested and invested in the ways in which society and culture shape our experience, either supporting us or constraining us. I see mental health as a part of a much greater picture and believe that the best supports for those struggling with their mental health are creative, responsive to the individual’s situation and needs, and holistic. My work is informed by my Relational Gestalt Psychotherapy training, attachment theory, trauma theories and anti-oppressive practice theory.
Areas I work with include relationships, emotions, sexuality, embodied experience, trauma, grief, parts work (internal family systems), perinatal mental health and parenting support, and working with people who hear voices.
I have a medicare provider number and so am able to offer medicare rebates to those with a Mental Health Care Plan. A Mental Health Care Plan can be accessed through your GP.
In addition to counselling and psychotherapy I also offer supervision and training.
